The Nutcracker: A Beloved Holiday Tradition in Kanata, Ontario

Every year, the Linda Jamieson School of Dance holds special holiday performances of the Nutcracker at the Ron Maslin Playhouse in Kanata, Ontario. Built in 1996, the playhouse contains an impressive 350-seat theatre that is a perfect venue for the well-attended holiday production.

With its lavish costumes and superb dancing, the Linda Jamieson School of Dance’s Nutcracker has grown so popular as to become a local tradition. The former editor of the Kanata Kourier was quoted as saying the production is a “community treasure.”

Nutcracker tickets go on sale every November at the dance company’s website, http://www.jamiesondance.com/nutcracker. There are matinees and evening performances.
